The media.
The media, I wonder how they choose what stories they should publish, should they the do the 80 year old man that died in a car accident? or maybe the woman who grows her own food? Perhaps the little boy that flew off in a baloon... and is now no where to be found?

Imagine if my life were covered by the media?

Oh it would be ever so dramatic, and no one would get tired of it.
I was watching the news last night, and I realized how much they actually say...
they can talk about 4 stories within a matter of 60 seconds. They don't even really talk about what's happening, they give a 20 second report and they're done. move on to the next subject.

Then they save the best story for last, last night's was about this poor teenager who was dramatically affected by the H1N1 vaccine.

I was so fed up becuase they kept saying "up next" and it STILL wouldn't come on, they kept talking about the little petty stories. "Oh this guy's getting a divorce" "oh she broke the law" "oh you should get a flu shot"

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT GIRL!

but no, you save it for the VERY END when everyone's sick and tired of your stupid talking.
It probably wouldn't even have been worth it.
They would have left you with the same questions, if not more.

The news, the media, it all makes me feel so helpless and depressed.

A teenage girl was raped, I asked myself where everyone was, why wasn't someone there for her?

A man was robbed at gunpoint, why is the theif still out there?

A little girl was killed by the H1N1 virus, why couldn't the doctors save her?

Our world needs to change, but we've all heard that before, we all know that there isn't much we can do. The most we can do is look out for our friends and families. There can't be life without some form of tradgedy, The World Wars, Terrorists, Tyrants.
"We learn from our mistakes"
No.
We don't learn anything, we fight for peace, we start wars so that people can be free.
Freedom is a choice.

If you choose to look at your freedoms and the things you can do, you will be free. If you choose to look at everything you can't do, you'll be a slave for the rest of your life.
